For 32 Bit : C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
For 64 Bit : C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
If you get errors here (access denied), you need to right-click your WinRAR icon and choose Run As Administrator. Then click "Open archive" from the file menu. Now find your archive and click Open. Finally, click "Extract" and you'll be presented with the above dialogue box again. Continue...

ok.. i followed theses instructions, step by step.. i had no problems modifying sims2, but i cant see these boots in my game...what have i not done??
do u need to install them in the launcher? because they havent appeared as a download....?

very confussed... plz help...

Hmm.. check your For 32 Bit : C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages
For 64 Bit : C:\Program Files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages and see if there is a file in there named: af-shortenedboots.package

i downloaded the 32 bit thing...means nothing to me  lol..
the package is in there...

Click on "my Computer" then click on "C:/" and look at "program Files" are there 2 of them? one says "program files" one says "program files(x86)"? If thats the case.. you need to move the files to the 64 bit location


Did you make an adult to put the boots on?

Hmm. I just pulled out my mods folder and reinstalled the framework and the boots.. it worked.
I would say try reinstalling the net framework and when it asks you to replace files say YES.
the boots appear directly above the thigh high hooker boots in game there is only one icon
Just the framework.. the boots file is prolly ok

ok i did everything you said and showed to do, now when i get to where you show how to extract as well as copy& paste the link for 32 bit it tells me access is denied which makes no sense to me since im the only user on my PC, which is a Compaq Pasario Windows Vista premium home edtions 2007 or 08, Vista came with the PC meaning its already on there. I tried what you showed/ said to do on my girls PC which is Compaq Pasario windows media center limited editions xp  2005 but for gaming i assume, which btw my sims3 wont work on their pc, so Please tell me what am I Doing wrong? BTW I use FireFox not Google or IE, it basically does most of the downloading work for me til I have to extract ETC. if i confused anyone i apologies i know i suck at explaining things! but if you do understand please HELP!

ok i re did everything that was said and or shown to do but I used IE instead of FireFox, Now like before,
( just a few mins ago) when i go to run framework it is automatically put into the WinRAR files, I even tried to save instead of open which i figured was what I did wrong, I even tired saved for  Frameworks inside of my download but it failed to work, I am very new at doing all this but i seem to understand what to do, I also found out that I do not have a 32 bit, so I am going to try the other right now, Please bare with me cuz it seems operator Error and Im working with new things that I never did or had to do b4!

btw THANKS FOR ALL THAT YOU ALL DO IN HELPING ALL OF US!

You "save" the file
then right click it.. it will show the menu.
If it wont alow you to extract :

First.. try to run winrar as administrator..
if you cant do it that way.. double click the winrar folder(the one with framework in it) and drag the contents manually into your sims 3 folder...

I am so OMG no words can explain right now, BUT what you said to do helped yet I had to of done something wrong because now its all gone magically! UGH , I had to do updates you know how vista is and its all gone, the update thingy popped up and so I let it run auto while i was doing what you told me and it seems to have been working and *poof* everything is gone and now that I try to do it all again nothing works!

now I also notice a few more problems when I went to retry it all again here's a list:

I have 32 but when I looked at my Electronic arts flder for the sims 3 it 1st let me download winRar 32 bit then when i went to do it again cuz of it disappearing it told me 32 was not for me so i did it in 64bit cuz thats also what the EA thingy had previously said. so I copied  both(from the pic tutorial) right now for nothing cuz its not allowing me to do it . Now downloading the  WinRAR right now isnt the problem its what it does to my Mcafee(deletes it) I dont know how or why??
BTW figured out how to add the pic please let me know what to do and TY again once more for all that your willing to help me and everyone here with!

Also I copied your pictorial just one pic to show(if i can figure out how to do it), because I do not have a Mod(s) Folder, and did not know I needed to make one if in fact I do, But lol Like I keep telling you all I am super slow when it comes to this.

Ok if I can't get the pic to load up(which btw its not doing)  I will just say  it, when you look at the pic tutorial  you clearly can see that in there where it shows whats in the windows for EA sims3.
It shows:The Sims 3,Caches,Games,GameData,Mods,Support,and Thumbnails.

Now this is what I see in my own: Custom Music,DCBackup,DCCache,Downloads,Exports,InstalledWorlds,Library,Recorded Video,SavedSims,Saves,Screenshots,
Thumbnails, and WorldCaches. Those are all the folders I see in the EA sims 3 folder.

I wrote it as it is in my own prgm files when you click on Electronic Arts it first say  The Sims 3 and then you click on sims3 and all the above is in there but does not show anything that says mods, Im thinking I am pose to make a Mod(s) folder?


Which when I did get to download WinRAR it showed me that too again thou the only thing that was missing was the Mod(s) folder. Yours is Again this way unlike mines ,your Pic'tutorial :The Sims 3,Caches,Games,GameData,Mods,Support,and Thumbnails.

 I'm so confused , am I ever going to learn this or what???

It seems so simple and easy as you told us all what to do and yet Im not able to do it,
Now I have full Administrative control so thats no problem and I am not willing to mess with the UAC or UCA because I don't know what I'm doing so I left that Alone.

If or is there a way to go around these problems?

Again Operator Error on my part but all your help is really a blessing I am just sorry Im so slow at catching on Yet I really do thank you and it means a lot to me all that you do and help with.
