The problem I am having is that whenever I try to extract the files this box pops up saying access is denied and I have no idea why because I followed all the steps exactly and I have no idea what to do now.

Try this, you might find it helpful:

Right click your WinRAR shortcut and choose Run as Administrator, then goto the file menu and choose 'Open archive' and find your download.

The archive..would be the Rar file. purple stack of books looking thing

unno how to so when i went and tryed to download something it gave me this message

When I try to go through the instructions again and put everything in C, I am told there are 14 errors. I right-clicked my WinRAR icon and chose Run As Administrator like you said and tried it again. I got the same 14 errors.

I have followed absolutely all of the instructions, but nothing is showing up in my game. My downloads are sitting (as extracted files) in my 'packages' folder of the framework, but nothing shows up in my game. I can't even open the 'custom content' in the game because it's not registering any. What can i do to have my downloads appear in the game?

I still don't get how you get the mods in the game i did everything but when i right clicked on the file i downloaded it didn't say extract what do i do?

ok so i got every thing right up to the Access Denied thing which icon am i supposed to right click on?

Thanks so much for the step by step guide to downloading. It took me a while, but I got it figured out. I definitely would not have been able to do all this on my own. What a pain! Unfortunately, it looks like I have to run WinRar as an administrator every time, for some reason I get errors otherwise.

this is what i get. i've done everything right, too.
i've even right clicked on BOTH and ran as admin. in case i confused them.

^ I'm having the same problem I'm getting the error messege but when I try to open archive nothing is there to open. So i have no idea what to do.

So I tried this again like 5 times and even went to a different site and tried their way and it ended up deleting all my saved games so I had to download all my stuff i bought from the store again. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong and I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to computers so I'm lost. So if anyone can help me I will love you forever

Okay I downloaded that thing from the link(i am a mac user), and everything worked out great so far. and then i started downloading some things from the sims 3 exchange. and i dont know if im doing this right but i click on save file in the exchange item i want to download. then i click show in finder and i moved the item into the mod pakage folder. but then when i play the game nothing is different. nothing has been added.

with WA installed, do i have to install the required files: resource.cfg, mods folder, from the download into the wa folder too?
