Hello, I use a Macbook for my Sims 3 games, and I don't really have a choice to move my game over to a PC because my house doesn't have anymore PC's now that we are totally transferred and devoted to Apple computers only.

I am having some confusion with downloading Mods for the Sims 3 on the mac. I had no trouble with the Sims 2 but I played that game on my old PC.
I need a total complete tutorial of exactly what to do!

And if there is already a tutorial about this on here then just give me the link, that would be great! Thank you!

1. First you will need an "Un-zipper" here is one made specifically for mac:
    http://www.zipeg.com/downloads/zipeg-setup.exe

2. Secondly download this :
    http://chii.modthesims.info/getfile.php?file=927170
Extract the file into a place you will remember!

3. Find The Sims 3 game icon, which is probably in your Applications folder. Right click on it, and select, "Show Package Contents.

If this option is not showing up, you're probably clicking on a short-cut game icon, and not the original. If you have The Sims 3 in your Dock, right click on the icon from the dock and select "Show in Finder". This will bring you to the original.

4. Choosing "Show Package Contents" will open up a window with another folder. Navigate through the folders in this order:

Contents -> Resources -> transgaming -> c_drive -> Program Files -> Electronic Arts -> The Sims 3.

Once you get to this location, drag and drop your Resource.cfg file into this folder.

5. In the same folder you just placed the Resource file, select File > New Folder from the Finder menu. Label this new folder Mods, and double-click it. Inside the Mods folder, create a second folder called Packages.

6. Now go download some custom content! If you're getting a web page full of gibberish when you try to download a RAR file, you may have to right click and select "Download Linked File".

After downloading custom content, extract it in Zipeg just like you did with the Resource file. It should become a .package file.

Drag and drop the custom content .package files inside the new folder you created called Packages, and you're done!

Hope this helped, have fun modding!
