Hi there!
Thanks so much for the guide, it is super handy and clear!
None of the links for the folder seem to work, though. Is there a new place, or way to install custom content?

I agree, I can't access the file, even when fixing it. It says it's not there anymore.

Ok I got the Helper Monkey for Sims 3 from the ModtheSims 2 site.  It seemed to have worked but now my game is crashing.. I need to look into that.

Hello,

I came back to re-read the instructions and see if I did something wrong - I didnt!

My problem is, that, when i put the resource.cfg int the sims 3 directory, the game wont start. The splash-screen comes, the film comes and then comes the screen with the progress-bar but there is no progress, means: the game stops doing anything...  Undecided
without this file everything goes really well...

someone any ideas?

thanx a lot,
ikkorb

You do put it in
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Right?

Well, my Sims 3 directory is "E:\Die Sims 3", but i put it in the Sims 3 root directory, yes.
And, of course, I made the Mods\Packages folder, but no matter if there are files in it or not, the games doesn't start.
I didnt see your patcher - i'll have a look for it and try it, thanx.

sorry - what patcher do you mean? I cant find any?!?  Tongue

And what do you mean with "as long your using c:\"? Is it necessary to install the sims 3 onto the c drive for the resource-file to work???  Huh
I installed the sims on E-drive in the directory "Die Sims 3", that means the file must be in "E:\Die Sims 3" because thats the sims root directory, right?

I have the idea that, maybe, I got a bad resource-file, what should be written in it?
The content of mine is:

Priority 501
DirectoryFiles  Mods/Files/... autoupdate
Priority 500
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package
Priority 499
PackedFile Mods/Test/*.package
Priority -50
PackedFile Mods/Probation/*.package

is this correct?

Maybe it has something to do with the language of the game?

I hope there will be a solution, i would really like to use some of the extra stuff some genious people are creating.  Wink

When I read the instructions... ARRRRGH, it's all to complicated! Plus I hate reading complicated instructions...  Shocked Then I saw this promising link, that might save me, but it says that the page cannot be found! So... I guess I'll give up and never use mods  Undecided
