I have unknowingly already gotten a package.cfg file, and found it here... Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > GameData > Shared. There were two folders, one called NonPackaged, the second was called Packaged. The package.cfg file was under those two. But, I dunno how to get any info from it, dunno what directories or whatever it's using for mods, or anything about it, really. So, my question is, what do I do?

The Resource.cfg has to go in Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 nowhere else.

And leave the other configs alone it might alter the stability of your game.

after that make the dir's in the same folder \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages

Also I don't know if you can use mods if you updated your game.

I just recently got a new computer for my birthday and wanted to install some custom hair. When I did my research and found my answer in this forum I tried the link provided to get this resource.cfg mod but the link says the server can't be found. Where can I get this mod?

Thanks for you for your help. ~Sj

google for the files from framework!
i use these files and everything works now
in the framework-pack is not only the resource file, but any files you need to get the hacks/mods working

i have no link - i think i found it on the "mod the sims 2" site in the sims 3 section

good luck

Is anyone having success installing custom content in Sims3? The first link listed in these instructions does not work for me, either. Will we ever figure out a way to make installing custom content as easy as it was with Sims 2? Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I'm frustrated and I want custom content. Help anyone?
